Shocking news, everyone!

TLC renames show to ‘Kate Plus 8’

Apparently the show “will have a deeper focus on Kate’s role as a single mother.” Yes, a single mother with a hefty allowance from a hit TV show and speaking tours, a camera crew of babysitters, and a bodyguard. Just like real life!! It’s nice to see that reality TV still is a window into our own lives.

But TLC, why would you show less of their loving father??

American Idol?

We consider ourselves pretty culturally-savvy. We follow trends and keep up with what’s popular and what’s not. Because of this, we have a pretty good understanding of why certain things are popular, certain things are considered good or bad, etc. 

But there is one thing we just do not understand: American Idol.

It’s the highest rated show on TV, by millions and millions of viewers. In order to understand this, we shall do what we do best. Watch it.

Top Chef s5 Predictions or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Finn

I often feel guilty watching “Top Chef.” It’s not because I take pleasure in indiscriminately hating on at least one contestant every season (oh Season 4 Lisa, I hated you the most). Wednesdays at 10pm usually find me sitting on the couch, eating microwaved Top Ramen, and snobbily insulting the contestant who can’t even clean and fillet an Arctic Char correctly. I mean, come on.

 

But that doesn’t stop me from fully and wholly loving “Top Chef.” (more…)
