Gawker just put up a post about how the NYPD has to take over Robert Pattinson’s security detail because his bodyguards are too overwhelmed by crazed fans. If you follow any NYC blogs, those articles have been aplenty lately. For those of us old enough to remember (re: everyone), this very much mirrors the Leonardo DiCaprio/Titanic explosion of ’07. So, my question, teenage girls of the new millennium, how did we go from this:

Traceface and I saw Star Trek, obvs. And it was as awesome as everyone says it is. We don’t really feel the need to write a real review, since pretty much every blog on the internet has already done that. So instead we’ll offer random observations and quips that are totally meaningless!
Dear Haters,
I know you think Miley Cyrus sucks. I know you think she’s annoying and untalented. I know you think she’s secretly a crazy jesus freak. I know you think it’s weird that she’s 16 and her boyfriend is 20 and her best friend is 22 and they make really obnoxious youtube videos. I know you think she has crooked teeth and some kind of small speech impediment. I know you think any teenager who threatens to single handedly ruin Radiohead should probably get thrown off the planet. I know she’s terrible singing live and drinks ketchup and takes pictures of herself half naked and….wait, where was I?
Oh, right…BUT she still has Hannah Montana. And, readers, Hannah Montana is freaking adorable.
Kristen Stewart, Kat Dennings, Ellen Page, and Evan Rachel Wood in an epic struggle over hipsterdom. Who will emerge victorious? Stay tuned…

Quickly! Our hopes for Academy Award winners (not necessarily who we think will actually win…)
WE DID IT!
It was a total of: 13 hours, 3 bags of popcorn, 4 sodas, 3 boxes of candy, 5 bathroom trips, and three seat changes, but ournamesrhyme saw every movie nominated for Best Picture in a row. It was all worth it. We saw some wonderful films and noticed some interesting trends. Movies still have the power to inspire, move, and teach. Here’s a few lessons we learned from the BEST MOVIES OF THE YEAR.

Ournamesrhyme is up way too early on a Saturday. What would make us do such a crazy thing, you ask? MOVIES, of course.
Unfortunately, we’ve encountered a huge problem over the last 6 months: no time to see Oscar Movies. At all. None. Except Tracy saw Slumdog. But that doesn’t really count, cause everyone and their grandmom saw Slumdog (oh it’s so heartwarming and clever how they use that Millionaire show! Look at the sweet Indian people!). Anyhoo, today that will be remedied for us, and for you.
